New Projects for 2022

For 2022 I’m doing a few old projects and a few new ones. I am excited to shake it up a little bit and do some things that are not strictly writing. Click to find out more!

I have decided to take a small break from the first draft I began during Nano. There is a major issue with the plot that I need to figure out and I think I was also just a little burnt out on writing this story. I have everything past the trouble point already mapped out, so when I begin again I will probably not have that much trouble writing the rest. There is just an issue I need to work out first. So even though I’m taking a small break from this story…it is definitely still in my thoughts.

I have leaned into making new music in the past two weeks. I made a whole concept album that is a soundtrack for a videogame I may or may not someday make. I’m planning on releasing this album to all the platforms and on this site on February 14th, 2022. It’s is called OTHERWORLD.

The other music project I’m working on is a shared project with my friend Sako Tumi (An amazing musician, dancer, artist, and writer I’ve been lucky enough to get to know a little.) I’m mostly probably writing lyrics for this project, but I want to help out however I can. I have already sent her a few songs lyrics and she is working on putting together something for them. I’m very excited and I’ll keep you all updated here.

Music has been really relaxing to do, but I find myself wanting the full version of ABLETON LIVE 11, but it’s so very expensive! I have a limited version of 10, and I can create with it, but I lust after 11 LOL. I find I make kind of dark music, so I really want to try to do something lighter and more pop for my next album.

The next project I will be working on is draft two of the YA novel I wrote this summer. This draft needs major work, and I am thinking a lot may need to be completely rewritten. I like certain parts of it, but other things are very weak. Sadly I find it to be one of the overall weakest things I’ve written. But I definitely think it could be fixed with a little elbow grease and tough love.

I also have a book of short stories, that are all taking place in the same world. And as always I will be writing poetry, perhaps for a chapbook or something like that. A lot in the pipeline I guess! I might re-release a book of short stories I have too, possibly as a free download but I’m not sure. I have had less time lately to work. But I keep chugging along.

I will probably be sharing some of my planning and my journals that are arriving this week, mostly for accountability. I also started losing weight and am down about seven pounds since the first. (Don’t worry I’m still eating plenty and indulging in my sweets, I just need to lighten up a bit for the new year.) My other goals for the year are to read 25 books, declutter my home a little bit and try to teach myself more about the craft of writing. I am getting a new iPad on Friday so I will be doing more digital art again too! I am very excited because I haven’t been able to use Procreate in almost a year because my old iPad broke. The sales from my poetry book allowed me a new one though and I feel so lucky.

Also, I am super excited about the Origami James Webb telescope! I keep up on as many updates as I can about it. I cannot wait to see what images it sends home.

Well, I think that’s about it, more updates as they come.
